Corrections Policy

We publish regulatory information that people act on. When we get something wrong, fixing it fast matters more than looking right.

How to report an error

Every guide has a feedback control at the bottom of the page — use it to flag anything that looks wrong. You can also reach us through the site. Include the guide, the claim you think is wrong, and, if you have it, a link to the official source that says otherwise.

What happens next

  1. We re-check the claim against its original source and against the source you sent, if any.
  2. If we were wrong, we correct the guide. Factual errors are treated as urgent and fixed as soon as we confirm them — typically the same day.
  3. If the world changed — a fee went up, a form was replaced — we update the guide and its references to match the current rule.
  4. Either way, the guide's last updated date changes, so the fix is visible.

How you can tell facts are current

Every guide shows a facts verified date — the last time we re-checked each fact in that guide against its official source. We re-verify guides on a rolling schedule, oldest first, so no guide goes stale quietly. Our editorial policy explains the full process.

What we do not do

  • We do not delete error reports we disagree with — we answer them.
  • We do not bump the "facts verified" date without actually re-checking the facts.
