What permits do I need to haul dumpsters in Maine?

Maine requires a Non-Hazardous Waste Transporter License from the Department of Environmental Protection under 38 MRS §1304(1-A) and 06-096 CMR Chapter 411.

License categories relevant to dumpster operators are Category A (special waste, scrap tires, C&D debris) and Category B (MSW for vehicles with GVW of 10,001 lbs or more). C&D debris requires a license for vehicles with GVW of 26,001 lbs or more.

The license decal must be displayed on the driver's side window of each vehicle.
